‘LA BULLE AU SERVICE DU VIN’
For the very first time Champagne GOSSET unveils a classic vintage from its ‘Les Célébrissimes‘ collection. CELEBRIS 1995 is a limited edition of just one thousand bottles.
Les Célébrissimes are the quest for a different expression of CELEBRIS, a different sensory experience magnified through an adventure of over twenty years of ageing.
After spending almost a decade on the lees, the cuvée was allowed an additional period of maturation after disgorgement, revealing the remarkable capacity of Gosset champagnes to grow over the years.

PATIENCE, THE ULTIMATE VIRTUE
The treasured bottles first spent time on the lees 18 metres below ground in the calm, cool obscurity of the Gosset cellars. Here they developed aromatic potential and substance.
During this first phase, the wine acquired balance in the mouth: its flavours were revealed, its structure tightened and its minerality diffused. The wine aged harmoniously, assisted by its effervescence. With patience, each element falls into place.
After disgorgement a second phase of maturation took place. Now sealed by cork, the cuvée rested for a further decade off the lees. This additional time, without the lees reductive impact, allowed the wine to develop further depths and become more complete, revealing its true vinous nature.
The aromas evolved offering surprising notes of pineapple, mango and rhubarb. Saline notes on the palate have become more precise, the mineral tension more harmonious, and layered beneath the flavours of ripe fruits lie hints of star anise and a gentle tangy finish.
Effervescence is now discreet. Having long fulfilled the role of protecting the wine, the bubbles have discreetly bowed out to allow the wine to step into the spotlight, for a new drinking experience.
THE BLEND The blend relies on Grand Crus from Avize, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger and d’Oger for the Chardonnay (46%); Ambonnay, Aÿ (of course), Bouzy and Verzenay represent the Pinot Noir (54%).
1995 A mild, wet winter was followed by a sunny spring and a hot summer. At the end of July temperatures exceeded 37°C, almost comparable to the two heatwaves experienced in 1983 and 1976. Acidity levels, similar to those of 1985, are the assurance of great cellaring potential.
THE VINTAGE 1995 The 1995 vintage is elegant, underpinned by superb acidity and wonderfully complex aromas. It delivers an aromatic expression dominated by ripe, exotic fruit. This expression of mature, well-integrated aromas are heightened by a vinification that preserves the malic acid.
‘The double ageing process is the ultimate experience for a grand champagne to have its bubbles melt away and allow the wine to give full expression.
