Gosset Matchmakers 2025: winning duo announced
A competition dedicated to young talents
Since 2016, the Gosset Matchmakers competition has celebrated the collaborative work of a chef and a sommelier around the Maison’s cuvées. A true platform for expression, it allows young gastronomy professionals to showcase their creativity and their mastery of food and Champagne pairing.
A final in London
The 2025 final took place last Monday in London and brought together several duos selected for their talent and complementarity. Each team was challenged to create an original pairing that highlighted the distinctive character of Gosset’s cuvées.
The winning duo
The 2025 title was awarded to Chef Darryl Shotlander and Sommelier Ché Dyson-Holland from The Dysart Petersham in Richmond, London.
Their winning dish — steamed monkfish rolled in Celtic mustard and nori, served with kaffir lime and ginger vinaigrette, spice oil, black mooli, and a buckwheat and almond tuile — perfectly complemented the Gosset Grande Réserve with its richness and balance.
The duo also impressed the judges with a surprise creation featuring Creedy Carver duck, prepared with aged soy sauce and sugar syrup, enhanced with sesame, sumac, and spices, designed to pair with the Champagne Gosset 12 Ans de Cave a Minima Rosé.
A showcase for gastronomic innovation
By highlighting creativity and collaboration among young professionals, Gosset Matchmakers has become an unmissable event on the gastronomic scene. It reflects the Maison Gosset’s commitment to encouraging innovation and supporting the next generation of culinary talent.
